DRESS CODE

Attend Open House week (TBA) to have your dancer fitted for shoes. Or visit our online store to purchase your dress code items before class.

You can also be fitted for shoes by our reception staff during office hours. Please be aware that 

orders take approximately 2 weeks to deliver. 

​

Intellidance Classes (3 Months - 2.5 years):

  • Comfortable clothes you and your little one can move in. Most caregivers wear fitness attire.

  • Bare feet or socks. Socks with grip on the bottom is best for little movers.

Rainbow Tots Pre-Dance Classes (Ages 2.5 - 4.5):

  • Comfortable clothes your little one can move in. Leotard and tights are not required,

         but recommended for ease of movement.

  • Please, absolutely no jeans, sandals or flip flops

  • Appropriate dance shoes for the style of the class: 

         Bare feet or ballet shoes for Creative Movement. 

         Ballet shoes for Princess ballet & Jazz/Ballet/Tumbling Combo

         Bare feet or CLEAN tennis shoes for Zumba Kids Jr.

  • If you purchase ballet shoes, please purchase leather or canvas ballet shoes from a

         dance wear brand.

  • Hair pulled up and away from face.

 

Prism Dance Classes (Ages 5 & Up):

The Prism Dance Program has a strict dress code. Wearing proper attire is an integral part of learning to dance. It shows respect to the teacher and allows the teacher to easily correct body alignment. It is important that all students follow this dress code and come prepared to class. 

 

All classes:

  • Hair must be pulled up and away from your face. Ballet classes require a bun. For ALL other classes your hair must be pulled back in a ponytail.

  • No jewelry – jewelry can get caught on clothing or on your classmate during partnering work and cause major injury.

  • No baggy clothing. Your teacher must be able to see your body to give you corrections.

  • Absolutely NO jeans, sandals or flip-flops.

  • NO GUM

 

Ballet:

  • Leotard (any color, style or brand)

  • Tights (any color - it is best to try to match your skin tone) Or black leggings

  • Pink ballet shoes (leather or canvas from a dance wear brand.)

  • Hair in a bun.

  • Optional: Ballet skirt or lycra/spandex shorts (any color)

  • During winter months, students can wear a form fitting dance sweater

         for the first 2 warm-up exercises at the barre.

 

Jazz/Ballet Combo Classes :

  • Form fitting dance wear such as lycra jazz pants or shorts, form fitting tank-tops or t-shirts.

  • Jazz shoes

  • Hair pulled into a ponytail or bun

Jazz/Tumbling  Combo & All Jazz Classes:

  • Form fitting dance wear such as lycra jazz pants or shorts, form fitting tank-tops or t-shirts.

  • Jazz shoes

  • Hair pulled into a ponytail or bun

Acro Dance:

  • Form fitting dance wear such as lycra jazz pants or shorts, form fitting tank-tops or t-shirts. 

  • For safety reasons, no loose baggy clothing.

  • Bare feet

  • For safety reasons, hair must be in a bun.

Modern/Contemporary:

  • Form fitting dance wear such as lycra jazz pants or shorts, form fitting tank-tops or t-shirts.

  • Bare feet or Contemporary shoes

  • Hair pulled into a ponytail or bun

​

Zumba Kids Jr & Zumba Kids:

  • Form fitting dance wear such as lycra jazz pants or shorts, form fitting tank-tops or t-shirts.

  • Bare feet or CLEAN tennis shoes  you only wear to dance class.

  • Hair pulled into a ponytail or bun
